Blame CMD...Another 45 unelected cronies have been stuffed into the House of Lords today, meaning that only Tony Blair has ever added more unelected peers (which took him over ten years, and Cameron has beaten Maggie's record which took 11 years). If Cameron carries on adding unelected cronies at the current rate there will be over 1,000 unelected Lords by 2020.

The Chinese National People's Congress is the only parliamentary body in the world with more members than the House of Lords, yet David Cameron insists on adding ever more unelected peers at a faster rate than any Prime Minister in history, beats the EU by miles
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

But at least you can jump through the hoops. They might have done IR35 in a way that it was impossible to avoid, or just introduced the 7% dividend tax 15 years ago.

Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

What title will she take, Lady IR35 ?

He must be hoping the people who he has added actually turn up.

Labour and Liberals together still have 80 more peers than the Tories.

Though there is one massive problem only half the peers can fit in the chamber at any one time....

Madness, it's time the House of Lords was abolished.

Do you think? I thought their review of IR35 was more reasonable than any of the half-arsed shyte the government has pumped out so far. Although with Her Dimness elevated to Ladyship I imagine that will change.

In fact back in the late 90's there were over 1300 peers but that chap Blair reformed it so that there less than 700. Then old CMD became PM and in his first year appointed 117 peers, cronyism at its best Its actually quite interesting to look at the list of peers that he has appointed and see how many of them are contributors to the Tory Party

Perhaps they should hold their meetings before lunch

No need to have the House of Lords to do things like this. No reason why Commons committee's could not co-opt experts to give considered opinions etc.

House of Lords is a scandal, just a club for ex MP's to have a comfortable life after they retire. No way that there should be an unelected chamber in the 21st century.

While they are at it they should get rid of annual honours and just have one medal for service to the country.

Oh, and I vote Tory as well!
