If we must have immigrants lets have highly qualified ones.

As to the let them all in brigade, you are just encouraging smuggling and deaths on the way.
Stop mixing up the likes of Roma and other ethnic groups not known for their work ethic with other migrants. There are actually a lot of qualified migrants. However their qualifications and experience aren't recognised in the UK so they end up doing the lower paid jobs.

It's worth taking time out to talk to people who serve you especially if they are young or have foreign accents. I can go into my local branches of Halford now and know whoever services me whether they are British or not will have a brain.

Also with the housing benefit cap, ethnicities not known for their work ethic are taking on low paid jobs such as bus driving so they can stay in London.

There are certain ethnic groups who Londoners have regarded for years as being deliberately lazy and thick so they can get out of working and live of the taxpayer. I've not met one person who has had to deal with the adults for more than 5 minutes who can say a nice word about them.

That doesn't make sense but if you're saying what I think you're saying that's quite shocking.

They're all British in my local store & they couldn't be more helpful and knowledgeable.

There's some sort of myth going round that people like to promulgate in order to slap themselves on the back and show how non xenophobic they are.

I heard an example of it the other day when some woman at work was talking about how wonderful it is to go into a pub and be served by a cheery East European rather than a surly British person who couldn't give a toss.

She's confusing the fact that times have changed and people in pubs etc have to provide a better, more friendly service just to survive with the arrival of lots of Polish girls with "smiley faces" 10 years or so ago who supposedly transformed the hospitality industry.

Similar in a way to what you're saying about Halfords.

The problem with our migration policy is that it accepts ALL migrants whether they are good or bad or indifferent. You and your "flood the UK" brigade try to cover up the realities with anecdotal stories and meaningless statistics about whether migrants "as a whole" have benefitted the country.

what should be happening is that we ONLY take migrants for specific jobs where skills are genuinely in short supply.

You bang on about a "lot of qualified migrants. However their qualifications and experience aren't recognised in the UK so they end up doing the lower paid jobs" . The truth is that the majority of these are students/young who do not actually bother to apply for teaching, engineering etc jobs in the first place. They end up working in Starbucks, pubs, retail, recruitment etc thus keeping wages down and enabling the UK to be lazy about how we educate our young.

The scientists, engineers, etc remain in their home country in their jobs. It is only the ones with nothing to lose that come here. Much as we like them we do not actually need them.
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

They actually do include scientists and engineers. (As I said talk to people and don't make assumptions.)

The reason they work in the service industry is because their English language skills are not good enough.

Once their spoken English language skills have improved they apply for better paid work which may or may not be in the UK.

So they didn't bother getting her address(es) overseas as someone couldn't be bothered to go to the post office.

I'm sure she would have happily given them her now ex-husband's.

                Amateurs.

Should have kept at least 3 of her children as collateral until payment is cleared.

You're not making a very good argument for immigration here. If their English is not good enough, then why did they come here expecting to work as scientists or engineers?

They come here because they think they can make more working in McDonalds than as a scientist or engineer in their own country. Or at least that's what they are lead to believe by people who make money from "tickets" to EU.

Why do all those Brits move to Spain when they can't speak Spanish?
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
