The agent asked me to start on 5th without a contract and I told him to get stuffed. Spoke to the Clientco manager yesterday and she confirmed that the PO is in the final stage of approval and that the official project kick off isn't until 12th Oct and hence the delay. She said that she will not sign the contract with agency unless all approvals are in place and I understand that the agency doesn't want to provide me the final contract unless they have the clientco contract

Agree with Suity here. Cojack had a massive judgement error with GittinsGal, god knows what the both had going. That she even thought GG could have been genuine is beyond comprehension.

Alas therein lies the problems, this is not a democracy, it's a dictatorship and Admin has vested the power in the mods, you either abide by the rules (even if you seem them unfair) or go elsewhere

Pretty standard interview. Seem nice enough. Seems like a really good gig.

Lots more interviews for them to do, so I hope to have feedback at the end of the week. Being realistic though it is long odds, and I'm sure there are others better qualified than me going for it.

Just coming to the end of Bench Week 2 and it's been ace.

I applied for a couple of gigs - one in a red-tape-riddled environment where a few contractor friends have warned me I will hate it, and another in a moment of weakness with a terrible rate - excused by the fact they're looking for someone junior. The agent asked me if I was happy with the rate ("Uhm, yeah") then asked if I could work independently with fag packet specifications. I smell a rat.

I am on bench week 6, couple of offers in the bag, nice rate hike and start dates in a few weeks.

Still waiting to hear back on my interview. I know the last interview concluded nearly 24 hrs ago.

I may be more sensitive to this sit and wait game because the previous interviewer pricked me about for 6 weeks before telling me there was no gig.

Then again when I've been on the hiring side of the desk I've always wanted to get feedback to the agent asap as I don't like keeping people dangling.

I don't remember the hiring process being so Kafkaesque in days of yore, and wonder if it's a function of supply outstripping demand and ClientCos feasting on this knowledge with self important glee.
