Yes I think we were all wearing life jackets. The kind with polystyrene in.

The rafting was an alternative to skydiving. Seemed like it might be safer. Not so. Although another person in our group did the skydive and damaged her ankle quite badly on landing.

I looked into the cost of the farm, but it turned out to be too expensive.

I have heard that the cost to the NHS of repairing people who do these dangerous activities for fund raising exceeds the amount raised for charity.

Oops, I was alone, but nearly got drawn off into the sea. I can see how it might have been mis-interpreted.

Another time, I was rammed hard in the rear by a Bull. My eyes watered and I couldn't walk properly for a week.
What happened was I was parked at some red lights when an SUV with bull bars dinked me from behind. That was a close one

At a French motorway service station, was badly cut up by an HGV on one of the roads leading to the exit. I leant on the horn and he managed to veer without hitting me. He then pulled over and got out, wielding a fairly hefty length of pipe. I didn't stop to discuss matters - just floored it.

My wife and kids were in the car at the time, and all they noticed was that I'd braked hard, sounded the horn and then accelerated.

Got crushed in a kayak against the wall of Thames lock by a narrowboat which hadnt been tied up properly when the wind caught it. 16 tons of steel underway bent my kayak into an egg shape but stopped just before it started crush me with a couple of inches to spare. Felt like one of those scenes in a Bond film. Assistant lockkeeper panicked and failed to pull me out. I had another 20 or so locks to get through during the rest of the trip and it took the shine off that holiday a bit.

1976 Moped (Puch Grand Prix) riding along the banks of the River Medway slipped splosh!
I remember standing on the bottom watching the water rise inside my full face helmet
looked up to see my bike resting precariously between the bank and a pleasure boat called the 'Ambasador 2' directly over my head.
the weight was pushing the boat away from the bank within seconds it would have been on top of me.
I was stuffed big time and beginning to choke.
Then I felt the gaff hook in my by then not so waterproof jacket.
the owner hauled me out and clear just in time, I was taken care of by two young far eastern ladies in matching 'Ambasador 2' T shirts
I never did work out that relationship with the owner but I was very grateful as I would not have got out in time.

Years later dodged a potential South Atlantic bullet - got mobilised for the Falklands just 18 hours before the Argies gave in. probably the shortest period of active service for a regiment ever!

Even later I recognise that Capris final resting attitude. One very similar to that launched past my stationary car in Scotland.
We had stopped waiting for someone to turn right.
Driver was bombing up behind us at high speed, at the very last second or two he engaged brain and veered off to the left.
Now in Scotland you tend to get things called boulders to the side of the road and in the adjacent fields so his off road excursion soon trimmed various bits off his car.
Wheels mainly and then up in the air it went rolling end to end and finally coming to rest on a big rock.
All four occupants survived with minor injuries.
All I could say was thanks for not killing us!

I bet a few of you have been bombarded with Giant hailstones damaging cars etc but my bungalow has been hit twice by blue ice.
Last time it was big enough to punch through the roof and ceiling and ended up in the bath of hot water one of us was about to have.
I laughed it off like like you do and just went outside and shouted missed again.......
So now I am worried, am I being deceived, just how much sugar is really in a spoon full!
