Had a livid cyclist at the weekend - was walking centurian-hound - at a pelican crossing - solid traffic both ways - pressed the button - waited at least two minutes - no change in the lights, spotted a gap in the traffic so dashed across with hound in tow - at which points the lights changed when I was halfway across.

When I got to the other side, a cyclist yelled over, accusing me a being a kid by pressing the button and running across - it "killed his momentum" - was yelling and shouting like I had shot his parents.

Utter tosser - aside from being wrong - I had pressed the button ages beforehand, even if I had just pressed it, so #&%@ what - cyclists don't have any divine rights never to have a red light in front of them.

So I complained to TOC and they were useless. Same thing happened again week later. So I had a go at TOC again - they said they'd told staff but it took time to filter through. So then we had a discussion about hoping there was not a train incident where evacuation was required in the meantime before someone had bothered to read the memo....
      what a load of toccers!

You probably just killed his Strava KOM attempt , at least he stopped.

The little ramp up to canary wharf has its very own Strava KOM race.

My daily cyclists annoyance: Why do many of the spandex type of cyclists use the main road if there's perfectly well laid out cycling path next to the road.

If the cycle path is well maintained and suitable for use then cyclists will use it. Cable Street gets 100% usage rate.

Often it is poorly maintained. Or terminates at every minor side turn.

Is it because they think they're helping to save the world that gives them such sense of entitlement?
Entitled to get his bike onto the train? I think you'll find he is.

It depends on the service. But cyclists are not entitled to knock into other people.

It just needs everyone to be understanding and there is space for all of us....

Mainly around here because there are normally cars parked across it
