Do you not know? Prison is meant to rehabilitate people, not punish. Therefore, they need nice, clean conditions, sky+ in their cells (sorry, rooms), treated with respect by the screws (i.e. called Mister whatever), balanced diets et al...

Don't be silly - prison is not for punishment it is for reform. These people have had terrible lives and their crimes are only as a result of their poor circumstances. Therefore they need to be pampered and made to realise what they can have in life if only they realise the error of their ways

All posts above are stuff and nonsense. Prisons should have minimum standards and cockroaches and slopping-out may cause and spread disease. Remember, some prisoners are innocent until proven guilty - they haven't been tried yet.

No they are not - there is no smoke without fire. All prisoners should be
shot, they cost us a fortune and give nothing back to society. So what
if a few innocent people slip through the net - that's just like collateral damage - regrettable but necessary.

Then have seperate prisons for those being held on remand - the rest can take their chances as they have been tried and convicted

The German cockroach has a larger number of eggs per capsule than other household cockroaches.
