LOL. To be honest, I am more tech architect/consultant rather than purely support these days. But some clients are still a bit funny about being onsite I find.Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!! -
Meh I've got a 5 1/2 hour train journey each way, just MTFU and keep invoicingSocialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.
No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.Comment

Know how you feel, mate. I love my work and we don't have kids yet which does make it easier, but I do worry about it.
You need to get the hell out of support, though!Comment

According to Judge Judy, 2 kids are 20 times worse than 1. And 3 kids are 300 times worse than 2.Originally posted by psychocandy View PostWait till you've got kids mate. 1000 times worse.....
The good news is after 3 you stop caring.Comment

What's your point, caller?Originally posted by psychocandy View PostDecent gig but the commute is long (Albeit on the train) at 90 mins+ each way.
Consequently, I'm up at the crack, home not too early. Get home and have to deal with the kids for a bit. Then I'm too knackered for anything else except slumping on the sofa.
Weekends then too short....
Not helped by fact that dear wife has got long term illness so its tough for her during the week when Im away 12-13 hours each day.
Could be worse - could be away mon-fri I guess.
Unfortunately, probably no WFH ever for this gig - would make a huge difference for me. On 3rd extension now, and its likely to run and run, but I think theres going to be a time when I'd hope to get something closer/some WFH.
Bit step to take because it is a decent gig/decent rate.....
And yes NCOTBAC lol

If you are concerned about that sort of money, then IMO you shouldn't complain. Keep working and keep talking to the wife.Originally posted by psychocandy View PostMore recently, wife has been off work. Been on half pay for a number of months now - still £500 a month less coming in - shortly that will be zero - so £1000 a month less. All adds up.
You never know when sh!t drops off the fan.Comment
