I know that is the system but 12% of the vote = <1% of the seats doesnt seem representative. More votes than the SNP but they get over 50 seats vs UKIP 1.

Why would either of the two (three?) main parties want to weaken their position, only people who would want it is UKIP and the Greens and no one listens to them

The fallout from the inevitable boundary changes will be interesting, as the SNP won't happy about that. Obviously, they'll be looking for any opportunity to argue that something structural has changed that requires another referendum. It'll be interesting to see how quickly they can manufacture something that sticks with their electorate.

Anyway, good result overall. I'm no particular fan of the Tories (the political backdrop for contractors is an ugly baby contest), but it beats the alternatives that looked very likely yesterday. Bloody pollsters.
