Good result for contractors I think, as higher rate of tax threshold will go up and generally the Tories should create more jobs, and ...mo! money!!!!

Ho Hum.
UKIP+GREENS = 5 million votes. One seat each?
Maybe now we will find out exactly where the £18bn cuts are going to fall ...My subconscious is annoying. It's got a mind of its own.Comment

Until they steal Labour's 'Reckless deeming' policy and stuff us all once again. Remember, they have absolutely no control over HMRC whatever they tell you. HMRC have pulled the strings for a long time. They only have to mention 'higher tax receipts' and any government wets itself in the rush to turn a blind eye to them.Originally posted by Unix View PostGood result for contractors I think, as higher rate of tax threshold will go up and generally the Tories should create more jobs, and ...mo! money!!!!

Yeah, I saw that. As usual we're going to be governed by a party for whom >75% of the electorate did not vote. Maybe the next election will be under a more representative system, BIDI.Originally posted by SimonMac View PostMy subconscious is annoying. It's got a mind of its own.Comment

When was the last time anyone saw or heard from IDS?
Within a week he will reappear with a striped apron and a full set of butcher's knives asking 'OK, who is next'. And whilst I agree with his sentiments on welfare reform, the scorched earth methodology really does affect those that are in desperate need. If that is acceptable, it's high time we stopped pretending to be a welfare state and stopped all benefits and significantly reduced taxes.
I still remember having to explain to my 82 yr old dad why even though his pension went up he ended up with less money.Comment

I note the Greens doubled their vote and my pension portfolio is up on the post-election surge , and coincidentally the Halifax announced a 1.6% rise in property values this morning ... maybe I'll bring my retirement/emigration plans forward ...
