    That doesn't make it right.
I'm not even an atheist so much as I am an antitheist; I not only maintain that all religions are versions of the same untruth, but I hold that the influence of churches, and the effect of religious belief, is positively harmful. [Christopher Hitchens]

So what. I very much doubt if you lived in a time when slavery was normal, you would have been shouting about it. What people view as right IS shaped by the social norms.

It was a slow, painful process. Led by people willing to suffer for their ideology. Unless you are keeping your social justice campaigning under your hat, I don't think that's you

You think that I can't believe something is wrong unless I actively campaign against it?

I believe the death penalty is wrong, religion is a ridiculous superstition and the monarchy are an embarrassment, but I don't actively campaign against them.

So you'd own a slave and think it was wrong? Your theoretical historical self is/was a self-loathing faux-leftie

That must be why I've always had a thing for sex on a faux leather bed.

"Having a thing" and "getting it" are two separate en'tit'ies.
