Cameron just looked the same as he always looks, a Posh boy robot. The fact he shat it in the first place is a disgrace.
Paxman was definitely meaner on Ed - not so much the nature of the questions but the cross-talk, interruptions and argument, Cameron was allowed more time to answer questions. Perhaps Cameron's just better at dealing with Paxman, but it seemed ike he had it in for Milliband to me.
I wondered how much they knew about the questions in advance because Dave particularly seemed very polished.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

What's this latest obsession with food banks? Is it just me that thinks that they are quite useful for people who are incapable of budgeting their money responsibly and allow people to still eat even though they have spent all their money on booze, fags, sky etc.
It's all very well jumping up and shouting about it, but what's the solution - give people more free money?Comment

The problem appears to be a low wage economy where those at the bottom end of the market are always living hand to mouthOriginally posted by sartois View PostWhat's this latest obsession with food banks? It's all very well jumping up and shouting about it, but what's the solution - give people more free money?Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.
No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.Comment

I'm sure it's not just you, ignorance often has plenty of company.Originally posted by sartois View PostWhat's this latest obsession with food banks? They exist as an emergency measure when for instance you lose your job, start claiming benefits but have to wait weeks/months for your application to be processed. Or when you turn up 10min late to the JobCentre and receive a benefits sanction whereby they stop your benefits for a month.
However they are quite widely used even by working families who have hit tough times, it's not just a soup kitchen for the unemployed. For one thing, you have to get referred to them (or at least I believe this is the case), you can't just turn up every week asking for food.
Most people hate having to use them, and are pretty embarrassed, from what I know (I know several people involved in running FBs and our church is quite involved in the local projects).Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

The fact is there will always be poverty in the UK and is not just to do with low wage jobs etc etc.Originally posted by sartois View PostWhat's this latest obsession with food banks? It is down to the fact some people are simple incapable of leading a life where they can support themselves.
And blaming it on politicians/the rich/the middle class is just fookin stupid as the issue is not within politics or money but down to human beings being human.Comment

Foodbanks were a political football in the referendum.
As soon as you said you were voting no someone would be screaming "YOU ARE THE ROOT CAUSE OF STARVING CHILDREN" in your face.Comment
