Got to get some Euros for my trip to Riga, and thence to a Russian gulag probably, where do you lot get yours from. I've always used the Post Office, decent rates and dead handy.

If we don't have any I just get 100 euros or so from the post office. And the rest when I arrive at the foreign airport / town...merely at clientco for the entertainment -
I usually go to the lady that sits in a box in Tescos. Handier than the Post Office and they open late.Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

I just use a cashpoint when I arrive.
I really can't be arsed working out the difference in exchange rate vs commission fees for the various different places, when the end result is likely to be a few pounds maximum.
When giving some USD to my nephew and neices when they were off on their holidays I got them from some place in Waterloo station that apparently has / had good comparable rates.Comment

I normally order them online and collect them from the ASDA money exchange. ...and don't forget the golden rule - when using your debit card abroad and you are prompted to pay in local currency or GBP choose GBP otherwise the conversion will use the unfavourable rate set by whatever provider the merchant is using rather than the less unfavourable rate set by your bank.Comment
