Nigel Farage has tried to fend off his more enthusiastic supporters' praise, telling a woman who described him as "sent by God" that: "I'm not the Messiah, I'm a very naughty boy". A former nurse from Dorset, named only as Jill, told a Channel 5 programme earlier this week: "I think Nigel Farage has been sent by God, he probably doesn't realise it .. I think Nigel Farage is sent to protect us against the EU."
