No, Poroshenko elections were AFTER (May, annexation was in Feb-March) But even if they were before, so what? What gives right to Russia to use arms to annex region that they've accepted as part of Ukraine and actually signed up to GUARANTEE it's territorial integrity???

What bothers me is that Russia now engaged in brutal war that kills Ukrainians who are as close to Russians as it can be, and the West is very slow to react to it, as you say - they are afraid of WW3, and that's exactly Putin is threatening with, but if nuclear armed scumbag like him does it then surely that shows who is aggressor and at fault? It was Russia who annexed soverign territory, any coverage in western newspapers is nothing compared with what Russian armed thugs doing in Ukraine just now.

In the past it bothered me that Western media effectively ignored that fact that Putin was a murderer on a grand scale, first in Chechnya (1999), then in Georgia (2008) now in Ukraine. He needs to be stopped and the West (thankfully) realised it.

And hit RT channel should be stopped also - they are not acting like proper mass media in UK and provide biased rather than objective coverage, that should be enough to withdraw their license here.

Here is what RT.com won't be reporting to you - today a mother of 7 kids in Russia was arrested for treason, what did she do? She overheard local Russian military officer talk that they are going on a "far away trip" and next day local military special forces unit looked closed, so she made a phone call to Ukrainian embassy about it. Bang - arrest for treason! Did RT.com report it?

Oh wait, I forgot - you just care about what RT.com says about Western politicians that they are supposedly hiding, golly - decades of free press in the West were all in vain, suddenly RT.com is telling to the truth that West was hiding, wow!!!

I would think most countries would take a dim view of what she did. She heard sensitive military information and relayed it to a foreign government. I think MI5 would be knocking on anyone's door here if they did that.

The main problem is that people like you, Jog On and others ready to believe all sort of BS - same thing was with USSR and lots of people joined communist party to fight for good times for workers etc. Lenin called people like you in the West this way - useful idiots. And he was right.

What's the problem if that military unit was NOT in fact going to Ukraine, which would be illegal and contrary to Putins words that no Russian troops were there? In this case it could not be treason because the information she passed would have been FALSE.

But not to worry - Ukraine will help Putin meet his end soon, either like Saddam or Ceaușescu or Mussolini. What would you be saying when his crimes become public with all the evidence just like after the fall of nazies??? Not that I give a fook about changing your views.

You didn't really think that through before you posted did you?

Not buying it - too many pointers to the US being behind it all including MH17 about which we will probably not hear what really happened for 10 years like Iran Air Flight 655. I'm not saying Putin is innocent or a particularly good guy but whoever is behind the western war agenda is much worse.

Interesting the timing of it all as well after Russia blocked the US from invading Syria in 2013 - then suddenly we get ISIS and a Ukrainian 'revolution' that puts a US puppet in charge...

I don't think we're going to get anywhere so I'll just reiterate that I don't buy the media campaign that is grooming us to support a conflict with Russia therefor I will continue to 'question more' along with the growing number of people who appear to be doing the same.

I'm happy to agree to disagree and move on but you may have an angry last word if you need to

Well, it won't be long now before Putins crimes are laid bare to the whole world. Naturally some conspiracy theory cretins will keep arguing that it's all setup by the USA, CIA etc.

Jeez, he produces the evidence you want but then you ask for more. Are you incapable of searching the internet yourself?

Anyway fook you all Putin lovers, we'll talk again when he is dead.
