    nope.

the party with the largest number of mps is invited to form a government by HRM, the leader being the new PM.
The new PM appoints ministers, who can be anyone. even doogie
Usually they are MPs or lords. The ministers then form a cabinet and get a hierarchy of juniors. The ministers run civil service departments or 'float' about.

When a vote comes along, the government are expected to win, due to a majority.
If they start losing votes, the country becomes rudderless and there is trouble brewing.

I'm not really any proper denomination, I don't think I could be a minister.

A lot of people who were involved in the grassroots movement for a Yes vote have been invited for selection to run under the SNP banner. The SNP changed the rules at their conference in November to allow non-members and newly joined members to stand for selection as potential MPs.

“I realised that I’m more representative than many people who end up as MPs. I’m a business woman, a mum with an autistic child, I’ve been unemployed, I’ve been skint, I’m comfortable now, I’ve lived through the same issues that the vast majority of people have. I’m not a grey man in a grey suit, and I’m not doing this for a career in a party.”

Ah... that's REAL democracy in action. Hope you're proud.

So what? Coalitions are the norm in some countries but they're not the norm here.

The point is they may become the norm here too. We're moving away from the traditional 2 party politics with Cons & Lab both getting less than 30% support for the first time in about a century.

A lot of use of the word "I" which tells it all really. The world of politics is stuffed with the "me" brigade.

Presumably everyone better start using the royal 'we' then when talking about themselves.

I am extraordinarily patient, provided I get my own way in the end.
“I'm back... and you knew I was coming. On my way here I passed a cinema with the sign 'The Mummy Returns'.”
I personally have always voted for the death penalty because I believe that people who go out prepared to take the lives of other people forfeit their own right to live. I believe that that death penalty should be used only very rarely, but I believe that no-one should go out certain that no matter how cruel, how vicious, how hideous their murder, they themselves will not suffer the death penalty.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
