If it's a choice between RT and the BBC, I'll choose the BBC. RT is the Russian equivalent of Fox News when it comes to bias. The BBC might not broadcast the news that you want them to broadcast or use words that use like, or give emphases that you like, but they are, nonetheless, reasonably trustworthy. (And yes, I do understand that the more rabid paranoids among you will find that statement laughable - but you're rabid paranoids, so you would, wouldn't you?).

But it's not like you're limited to just RT or the BBC. Try C4, Al Jazeera, ...

Many programs from comedy to documentaries have a dig about Russia or are blatantly anti Russian. The problem with the BBC is that they are so good about spreading propaganda most views don't realise it.

The only way to get a balanced view is watch a number of news channels.

Beware a little man with a big gun. Putin appeals to the insecurities felt by the Russian people and he does have nuclear weapons at his disposal. The Russian economy is too small to fight any war with the west. He is not however stupid. he knows full well that the EU is too lilly livered to stop him expanding Russian influence into its near neighbours like Ukraine and Georgia. He will also probably seek to destabilise the Baltic states and maybe even parts of Eastern Europe until the west actually stands up to him.

This of course will not come from the EU (something the Europhiles probably do not think matters) so we will have to wait for the US to elect a Republican president before he is stopped.

Good point about the polarity of the 2 options, I wasn't really trying to specify news sources - more try and illustrate the complete difference in views on Putin and Russia.

Particularly when it comes to who's trying to start WW3.

I personally believe that Russia has no interest in WW3 or 'aggressive' expansion. Despite what we're being told in MSM...

The likes of John McCain on the other hand I see as really trying to push the war agenda as far as it will go.

The BBC toeing the party line (or not) is entirely irrelevant to the trustworthyness of RT. Even if the BBC do follow the instructions of their political masters, they're still more trustworthy than RT. I have noticed over the past thirty years that the BBC is accused of bias... by all sides of most arguments. That in itself is a good indicator that they're not doing to badly at impartiality.
