I dare ask if majority of the people here understand what is going on with the old continent, I certainly do not, and that is why I am terrified
    Ah self interest

The truth about East European migration but statistics don't even show latest influx  | Daily Mail Online

So what do you propose we grant everyone currently here regardless of their background UK citizenship?
What about criminals on the run or likely to re-offend?
People that have committed serious offences while in the UK?
People involved in sex trafficking from Eastern Europe?
    Professional beggars?
People who have been here for years and are on benefits?
Those who have married non UK citizens via a sham marriage or a real one allowing additional immigration?

A more difficult question is should there be a minimum contribution above which citizenship can be granted.
Or should we continue to allow the displacement of existing low end UK workers?

We are talking about millions of people who have arrived over the last 15 years its a massive amount of migration.

Or do we offer a transitional arrangement where people here legitimately can apply for citizenship and be judged on their possible contribution.

Immigration from outside the EU is another problem and we need to deal with it separately.

Radicalisation again is another problem and we need to tackle it head on.
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

As was said, the points based system they are mooting would be applied going forwards. I think the media is desperately trying to twist this into a deportation scare story, even after Steven Woolfe clarified the party's stance on this. Besides, the other parties will just do whatever UKIP proposes anyway... They're not opposing this on grounds of principle but to try and rout the threat the party poses in response to an issue that they have neglected for ages, and which historically they have also campaigned on.
