Anyway. Apparently the John Lewis ad is reducing grown men to tears. I can't see it myself. I mean, it's obvious it's not a real penguin - at least to anyone smarter than a concussed bee (or minestrone).Down with racism. Long live miscegenation! -

It looks like more WW1 sentimentality, which seems to get worse with every passing yearOriginally posted by eek View Post
although in fairness this Christmas is the 100th anniversary of the 1914 Allies v Boche Christmas truce, to which it looks like the ad relates (can't play it at clientco though to check)Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment

Doesn't make me more or less likely to shop at John Lewis though."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

I have a friend (yes, really!) who is an extra in this.
However, the advert does not rest easily with me. I think the commercialisation of 800,000 youngsters deaths might be something to do with it.Comment

So you're not a fan of BlackAdder, Dads' Army or Allo Allo either then, which were all created for commercial reasons and continue to create income to this day?Originally posted by ctdctd View PostI have a friend (yes, really!) who is an extra in this.

Also why are you only worried about youngsters' deaths?Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

These TV shows were works of fiction created with fictional characters. This advert depicts a real event with actors depicting real people who later went on to die and who have surviving relatives.
I can see why someone who reads the bible too much cannot understand the difference,Comment
