Funnily enough, Im considering coming out of (early) retirement and becoming semi retired, maybe pick up a contract here and there with the aim of working between 3 and 6 months max in any 12.

With that in mind an agent contacted me about a role. It was only 3 or 4 weeks which Id have dismissed out of hand when I was working proper but feck me, what a load of info they wanted for a 3 or 4 week role.

In addition to the usual id stuff, they wanted a life's frackin' history of past 'employment.' Turns out it was barcrap anyway who I wouldnt entertain.

So yeah, if I come out of retirement, I'll be picky and choosey too. And if I dont get anything, Ive still got my retirement!

Good luck with the plan Cojak.

So. My leaving do tonight. A cast of one (it's been that kind of place). But wait - another contractor who is WFH today announces he's going to come over later for a piña colada or two.

And then half an hour later and one email later he learns that tonight is also HIS leaving do.

I am due to finish up this contract at Christmas, but everyone thinks we will all be back next year. Question is for how long. Currently have other offers for next year, but really don't want either.

Current choice is go on long holiday in the sun, or stay working and buy penthouse apartment.
