Imagine if Breaking Bad was set in Canada or the UK or Australia

    As picked up else-web:

Imagine if Breaking Bad was set in Canada or the UK or Australia. Walt discovers he has lung cancer, is promptly treated at no cost and discharged with no financial burden apart from $20 in subsidised prescriptions. The end.

He'd have probably died with the no-end of delays and postponements

      Drugs too expensive?

      No beds?

      Or...

Needs to make money to go private so the story is much the same.

      But with wetter weather.

        Not this again.

a)There was an entire monologue where he worked out exactly how much he needed ($700k IIRC) and what for; most was to support his family after he died.

b)He had health insurance which DID cover treatment but it didn't provide access to the best experts in the field. That's the same as the UK, many treatments are not on the NHS.

Walt had insurance which covered his care costs. The rest was to generate enough money for the family to survive after he had died.

So it wouldn't make a major difference.

If it had been set in Australia he'd have got bitten by a snake or stung by a scorpion when he hung out in the desert without his clothes on.

At least he'd avoid this monstrosity, though... unless he's in Waitrose's organic fruit section, that is.

He would have life insurance and PPI.

                You forgot the Postcode lottery.

If he lived in Wales forget it. If he lived elsewhere near a decent teaching hospital then they would be happy to experiment on him that's if his GP referred him in time.....
