It's the massive new international train station out there. Trains direct to London in 20 minutes and also the Eurostar to Paris.

Yes it's a tulipe area but this will help to regenerate it over the forthcoming years.

Also I agree with the view that BTL is NOT a good investment now. I can't believe people are still considering it at this stage in the economic cycle. The only way to make money in property is to buy a plot or run-down house, do it up and sell on. Or take a gamble on a place like Ebbsfleet which you believe will benefit from extra-ordinary circumstances.

    A gamble it is though.

"She came from Ebbfleet, she had some webbed feet"

20 mins is fast but I'm dubious about this reclaimed land at the arse end of the Thames.
Brochures provide the illusion of a yuppy couple drinking a bottle of wine in their "luxury" loft-style flat, however the reality of "waterside living" is at best a balcony overlooking miles of stinking mudflats.
In 50 years time it will mostly be flooded so your 99 year lease isn't worth the paper its written on. (Make sure you pick a high floor).
For family living these new developments are probably even worse. Maybe we should be applauding the developers for regenerating these terrible areas, but with Prescott in charge the whole thing is likely to end up as a complete nightmare, somewhere like Chafford Hundred. The whole Thames Gateway project has been a clusterf*ck so far.

In twenty years it'll look like Hull.

PS. Did you know that Prescott is actually Welsh and went to Oxford ?
It's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. www.areyoupopular.mobi
