I think that remains dated to about 17000 years ago have been found.

And there were subsequent invasions coz there are distinct genetic differences between different tribes of Native Americans.

That's the thing, odds are the fossil and archaeological records will show that it's been occupied on several occasions in the dim and distant past with the people dying off or bogging off elsewhere, that's the case with Britain and lots of Europe.
