Sorry to hear that, parking can make life really difficult.

We have been round a few times, we couldn't see any parking problems.

Its a very small Cul de sac, ~12 houses and each house has 3-4 car parking spaces on the drive so hopefully it shouldn't be so bad. I will be changing ours slightly to take 5.

Luxury. I think modern developments are not allowed to provide more than 1.5-2 spaces per house (in some areas anyway) in some attempt to promote green values (FFS).
We're in a fairly nice city-centre development like this and many houses only have a single garage with no drive... big upper-middle-class cars won't fit and most use them for storage. So the street is awash with cars, as most working families have 2 cars. And then many houses got bought for letting to rich Durham students... the houses were not built with that in mind so suddenly several houses have 3-4 cars each because these days, students all have cars despite the fact Durham is small enough you can walk across it in 20 minutes.

yes planning is madness.

Most of the larger houses round are sold to Asians who have a culture of the children staying at home until the year after they get married and having the grandparents living with them. This leads to about 6 Mercedes/BMWs sitting outside the house.

Note there is nothing wrong with their culture ( I actually quite admire it but I think the wife would go mad living with my parents) before anyone suggests such observations are racist. Yet they build them with 1-2 spaces.

They built a few hundred houses a mile or so away on a small one track country lane and they failed to do anything to mitigate the traffic chaos that ensued.

Suddenly the council has realised we need 2 new secondary schools (not just dozens of new primary schools) FGS they have 11 years to figure that out with local born kids.

Hurrah, we sold the house at full asking price and are buying much bigger one close by . The type Mrs V has always wanted. Cul de sac, huge hallway and plenty of space. We couldn't have dreamed of affording this house last time round.

We will hardly put anything on the mortgage and we made a shed load on a house that we bought because everyone else couldn't see the potential. (it was on the market for a year before we bought it).

It took two weeks to sell our house despite 'it being in Slough'. Very happy bunny!

Scary thing is its selling to a first time buyer with a huge mortgage (I couldn't have afforded it even on my best take home).

A few drinks will be consumed tonight!

I did much the same a couple of months ago, selling my London studio flat for £500K (which I had bought for £60K under 20 years ago!), and am now esconced in a seven bedroom, 6000 square foot turnip in Devon with no near neighbours. Practically had to walk around the place with a map for the first couple of days it was so large and confusing.

All the locals I've met so far have been very friendly. The only slight snag is the 250 mile drive home and back to clientco each weekend - The car will need servicing every six months!
