Tesco has long engaged in the unpleasant bullying of its suppliers. It has been caught with its trousers down and it is in trouble. tesco frequently asks its suppliers to give them money back. At first it was straight cash. This became illegal so instead it started "selling back" prime positions for supplier goods and other "services" to service suppliers.
To compound matters it brought forward the so called "revenues" that would be spread over three years into the current year. every supplier (including the new CEO David Lewis formerly of Unilever) knew this was going on. Because of Tescos power no one would question it. Anyone who did not comply had their business reduced/removed.
For all you shareholders there is no route back to recent levels of profitability because there are no more profits to be made. As I am sure many of you will understand retail is very low margin business. Suppliers have been squeezed as far as they can, job losses would be counter productive 9both economically and from the point of view of popularity with the public.
Whilst Tesco will remain the biggest food retailer for a while and maintain high profits a return to the share price of recent days will not happen.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment
