So your saying a person holds up a ticket and it's pinched by the person next to him or close proximity. So you think that person who just had his ticket pinched isn't going to do something about it.

Do you think the police watching fans hold up their tickets for inspection wont notice this.

Your mate is a dick and so are you for believing him or making this story up.

Read the articles you dick, don't just google and look at the headlines.

UEFA blamed some atrocious mismanagement on Liverpool Fans. The made a mess of things and tried to deflect the blame onto Liverpool fans.

Politicians in the UK have backed the English club, criticising the organisation of the event. Michael Howard, the former Conservative leader, said the Olympic Stadium was unsuited to staging such an important match and Simon Gass, the British ambassador to Greece, called for an investigation into the behaviour of the police.

None of this was caused by Liverpool fans, it was all Thatcher's fault. #JFT96

Lol you even bothered to cut and paste a picture of some dicks fighting. Cause we all know that only happens at Liverpool games.

The examples you gave from the mail and guardian reported on UEFA trying to defend amazingly poor mismanagement of a sporting event.

Gaillard (UEFA) couldn't give any more details on the supposed 25 incidents involving Liverpool fans.

He also went on to say the Liverpool had a long history of trouble making. Which is contrary to his previous remarks about Liverpool having a great tradition of good behaviour.

Why would you tell people with genuine tickets to hold them in the air?

That's stupid regardless of the event.

If an event is sought after then there will be people willing to steal tickets.

Part of the reason other events don't have problems is they do a two stage entry.

Ok I'll be tactful. It was rumoured at the time there were lots of forged tickets about, some printed on home printers and that fans were travelling with them...

There are always forged tickets around for popular events.

Some people don't know they are forged and actually have paid for them thinking they are genuine, so telling people to hold up genuine tickets doesn’t work.

As already stated on this thread the authorities screwed up big time.

BTW You are just trying to say the Liverpool fans were all yobs. Yes some football fans at that time regardless of team they supported were yobs. Remember at Hillsborough some of the people who died where teenagers including girls and OAPs also died.
