I know you're getting at the EU rules wouldn't allow it but this is a unique situation. No country within the EU has independence from a union that has membership.
As has been pointed out earlier, we have lots of natural resources and strategically are a very important part in the north Atlantic. I think the EU will find a way of arguing that as we are already EU citizens we will be allowed to fast track. If that means letting us in with the panama solution then it might happen.
rUK might be voting to leave the EU in 2017 anyway.Comment

Your Plan B might be allowed.
Just stop the nonsense and be honest about the pound scots, maybe with a Sterling Peg. You'll get in the EU then, no problem and I think make a real go of it. But the dishonesty of the CU Plan A / Panama Plan B is shocking.Comment
