Broken promises, pot calling kettle black. What of the smith report? Already it's been thrown into the long grass.

Pre referendum the SNP told everyone that NHS spending could only be protected by independence, at the post referendum SNP conference Sturgeon told everyone that she was going to increase NHS spending over the course of the next 6 years.

I'm just really wanting to do an autopsy on the SNP referendum campaign. It is quite clear already that it was based on complete mince and fabrications.

To be fair, economic forecasting - especially the quantitative sort - is only a bit more reliable than trying to predict the weather, even with regards to the price of a particular commodity. It's tricky business and even experts get it wrong on a frequent basis. I think the forecast being wrong is less important than the degree of importance placed on it. The yes vote failed largely because the SNP did not put enough focus on the economics of it, so they couldn't take these sort of issues head on. Salmond isn't stupid so there was no doubt some deception going on. I say this as someone who supports Scottish independence.

I'm happy for them to take it anywhere they want.

One of the funniest elements to this is that Wee Nicola (the pug-faced trout!) has been actively attempting to convince everyone in the UK to REMAIN when in fact what she really WANTS is for Scottish voters to vote REMAIN and English voters to take the UK OUT. She would interpret that result as her gateway to a second scottish indy referendum.
As it looks like we have opted to REMAIN, she can kiss goodbye to any second referendum for the rest of HER political career anyway. Which is nice!

Yes. It is just like Nigel and Boris pretending to care about poor people and the NHS.
