Once you get used to spending loads of money, then no amount is ever enough. There are people in this country who live on <20k a year and have to pay mortgages and other bills. They manage. How can someone not be OK on the equivalent of that wage but with no bills?
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

I have survived on less than £100K pa before. It is possible with some heavy budgeting but not much fun.

Also at £1k / month you can't afford anything you want to buy.

It's a baseline though - anything on top of that and you can ask yourself if it's really worth x hours of working to have it, and n times x hours for the n times the "want" will have to be purchased over your whole life, if it's to be a permanent part of your lifestyle.

There are things I haven't priced in though. I assume the wife is going to pay for the children. When the need arises, I'm likely to want dental implants rather than what the NHS offers. You need money for contingencies, for example I can't insure against the wife leaving with half my money. (But I do intend to be very nice to her.)

Yeah those high class hookers eh, great stuff. But all they leave you with are some great memories and a bruised & battered kn_b.

The plan might then in fact be to have a residual income of say £1k a month from ur 300k cash in the bank, and then choose to work as and when u feel like it. You could take a short contract or work at Tescos for 2 days a week, for example, to earn a little extra or pay for that luxury/surgery/ex-wife/illegitimate child/hooker etc.

Of course, the luxury of having a hooker could lead to the illegitimate child which would soon make ur wife ur ex-wife, but only after she leaves u needing surgery.

Best advice you will ever get.
There is one thing that nobody can ever recover and that is time. Spend your free time with your mates, your parents, your family, etc.
You can never get that time back when sitting in a traffic jam, in a packed train, etc.

Don't go mad but money is there to be spent, to get you happiness. Money that sits in a bank and grows but is never spent is pretty much idle. Dieing with the biggest bank balance is pointless.
