      99% of car drivers are good. There is a 1% who give no consideration. They are a menance to other road users, and should not be on the road.

        But no one is fooled.
        Because the requirement to keep to the left is in relation to the lane or lanes on the carriage way. The highway code sets no distances from the kerb or verge that must be adhered to.

        You should be overtaking cyclists in the same way as any other vehicle. If there are two lanes available then other road users are under no obligation move over. In the instance we did as we knew the road was narrower than normal, although still with two lanes, and it would make it easier and safer for everyone to do so.

            keep well to the left on right-hand bends. This will improve your view of the road and help avoid the risk of colliding with traffic approaching from the opposite direction

                How is this so difficult to understand? They were 2 abreast (which is not "more than two abreast") and were on the left.
