There seems to have been some diplomatic to-ing and fro-ing. My guess was that Iran informed the USA via Iraq diplomates that they were going to attack US bases in 24 hours thus giving time to evacuate. That way Iran can claim a victory and keep their fanatics happy and Trump can claim there was no real damage and loss of life therefore no further action is needed.

Fuel prices can drop next week.
