NK would know China would allow their use if NK were attacked first and it keeps NK in check from starting a conflict.
Better than letting NK continue to antagonise its neighbours, which only takes one dodgy missile launch to escalate into a conflict.Comment

Alternatively, NK will soon get the nukes their own way and join the list of countries the USA can no longer threaten, which is where international stability comes from. In a way every nation recognised by the UN should be allowed nukes to ensure the status quo.Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.Comment

I wonder if NK is all just a big sideshow distraction from other more troubling news or embarrassments they don't want being talked about.
Like the total defeat of ISIS, stabilization of the situation in Syria and victory for the Assad regime. Maybe they are writing the next chapter for that as we speak - what are Saudi/Israel/US/us planning to do about that and how are Syria/Iran/Russia planning to counter that?
Read this article over the weekend. Seems to be getting to the root cause:
When looking at the world today, one gets the impression of living on a sick planet, with sick world leaders in an ailing democracy. It sometimes seems as if the planet has the flu, and no-one seems able to come up with a workable cure. Few will deny the fact that there is a terrifying lack of wisdom in the world. You gotta love the lunatic fringe:

Same tactic insists we keep Germany from its natural ally Russia.
We stick our military nose where it doesn't belong to derail prosperity not on our hegemonic terms. Debt or destruction is what we bring to the table

The Asian Century is the projected 21st-century dominance of Asian politics and culture, assuming certain demographic and economic trends persist. The concept of Asian Century parallels the characterization of the 20th century as the American Century, and the 19th century as the Britain's Imperial Century.
I think China and Russia can read them like Roger red hat book and are already making serious moves:

Israeli air force jets kill two in rare targeting of Syrian chemical facility | The Independent
Local media said that the target was possibly a chemical facility. War monitor the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said the site was a scientific research centre, sanctioned by the US as a "non conventional weapons agency". American officials believe the base is used for the manufacture of chemical weapons - a charge the Syrian government denies."Is someone you don't like allowed to say something you don't like?
