The two blokes who are quoted by the Telegraph both seem to have form for seeking to provoke controversy.

Mohamad Sabu - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - in which the disliker of dogs insults the memory of a bunch of police officers who were killed by Communist rebels in 1950, and who are generally regarded as national heroes.

But that's nothing compared to the attention-seeking of the other one: Ibrahim Ali (Malaysia) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

• Mocks a disabled MP for his disability;
  
  
• Blames male adultery on women;
  
  
• Fined and jailed for contempt of court;
  
  
• Various acts of petty racism.

I also note that, despite the Telegraph's hand-wringing, nobody has thought the comments about dogs sufficiently interesting to add to their Wikipedia pages, which would surely have happened by now if anybody in Malaysia gave a toss about what they said.

So, essentially the DT is trying to be like the DM.

Race to the bottom. The Telegraph has abandoned its heritage as a news reporting institution, and merely seeks "clicks". See Private Eye passim.

I think it was the most recent issue of the Eye that told how one of the few journalists left at the Telegraph had used their journalistic skills to do online research that uncovered that somebody claiming to be a "digital media specialist" in order to get a high-profile job was, in fact, nothing of the kind, and didn't even have the degree they claimed to have from a top American university.

The lying "digital media specialist" was the new top bod at the Telegraph.

The journalist, rather than being rewarded for demonstrating their ability to bring their skills to bear on digital media issues, was sacked.

Was slightly disappointed when I opened this thread, to find that it wasn't a news story from sunny Huddersfield, or has the doggy jihad been in place there for a while ??

I'm tempted to launch one against the baskets opposite who leave theirs yapping and whining outside. But no, as yet there haven't been any reports of anti canine towel heads roaming the streets with meat cleavers and a tin of Ceasar. I'll keep you posted.
