Given that the "Power of Siberia" pipeline won't start pumping gas into Chinese factories until 2018 at the earliest, its economic effect on the European crisis will be limited.
Gonna be a while though. Reckon Russia will have the 2018 WC taken off them if this escalates into WAR!?

Don't forget Russia invaded Poland at the same time, they have form for annexations going back a long wayOriginally posted by BrilloPad View PostFrom telegraph website :-
Russian President Vladimir Putin has one last chance to show he is serious about helping rescuers recover the bodies of the victims of the crash of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, the Dutch prime minister said on Saturday.
Didn't Chamberlain say something similar to Hitler just before he invaded Poland?Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.
No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.Comment

It's not that simple. The population is predominantly Russian, but there is a fair amount of Ukrainians, how do you propose to displace them if they don't want to live in Russia?Originally posted by Flashman View PostUN Peacekeepers to eastern Ukraine.
International observers to oversee referendum.
Let the people who live there decide if they want to be Russian or Ukrainian
The contested region holds a major portion of the Ukrainian industry, paid for and developed by Ukrainian Government/Private companies, how do you account for that if the referendum decides to in favor of Russia?
And there a whole lot of other complications like setting precedents for future annexations and what not.Comment
