Who really cares? 300 people is insignificant compared to what 'the west' is responsible for. That's probably more than 300 every month! Of course they're brown though - they seem to be worth less than white people.
Many of those are being killed using US supplied weaponry that found their way from Syria into ISIS hands. Odd that Obama and the gang seem to forget that when he's busy trying to start a war with Russia.

To answer my own question - I care. But I think there are several posters on this thread who would be a bit hypocritical to say that they do too.

You conveniently "forget" to mention the not so insignificant fact that Russia provided and still provides the Assad regime with weapons
the "west" has stopped supplying anything to the rebels a long time ago

They stopped? That's ok then I assume all the arms they previously provided self destruct after 30 days?

PottyTrained is right. You have no evidence to make the claim that Russia is responsible, hence the international community insisting on a full and impartial investigation.

Even if the investigation is able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Russian separatists were responsible, it may be difficult to directly blame Putin, beyond placing responsibility for the consequences of arming an amateur militia.

Just because you are involved emotionally doesn't mean you can just make a leap of faith as to who the perpetrators were. I was angered by the tabloid headlines this weekend, the Daily Mail's 'Putin killed my 1 year old son' etc.

I am in no way pro-russia but let's deal with the facts...

It was quite clearly the Russians.

There's also the possibly the arms are funded by interested Oligarchs - possibly they have more money than the Rossiyskaya Federatsiya......

And how can they be pro-russian AND separatists? That could mean they just want to be a separate country. Maybe!

It was quite clearly some people within the Russian/Ukraine border area with access to the weaponary to bring the plane down.

Whether they were doing it of their own volition or because someone (possible Putin) ordered them to is the main question.

It was an accident, much of the blame lies on the airline for flying over a war zone to save a few bucks.

I've not been paying too much attention to all of the stories. Is there a reason people think that Putin might have ordered it? I.e. what's his motive? I would have thought he'd have done a better job if that were the case.
