US healthcare is an appalling corporatist mess that seems to achieve the worst of both worlds.

Singapore has a pretty market based approach and tulips on most European systems in terms of costs and results. Granted they have some demographic advantages.

I don't think the state provides much healthcare (outside military and possibly prisons). It does fund healthcare.
