I filled in the forms and answered the questions they asked. To be fair, I also did not think it relevant to tell them what I had for breakfast either.Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!! -
There is a savings limit mate. After which they do start to take money off.Originally posted by kal View Post+1, Don't you get 6 months worth of contributions based JSA for which it doesn't matter how much cash/gold/diamonds you have stashed away? Don't know what planet some of you live on?Originally posted by fullyautomatix View PostWHS
On some forums I have read instances where people were even jailed. The law will catch up at some point if you are being very economical with the truth. What some people do not realise is the investigative power of the benefits departments. Once you get convicted and jailed kiss goodbye to your contracting career.
Come and visit the welsh valleys one day and see how many people are claiming benefit and not looking for work or working cash in hand. They're not all in jail.
Im sure they're not going to come after me for a few £100 if I forget to own up to one or two savings accounts. BTW - just so you sleep tonight, last time I claimed there was zero in company reserves anyway.Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

,'They've stopped me muney' ... err no Mrs Chav it's not your money rather a benefit payment that you and your 6 jailbird kids should be grateful for...

In that link, "Other disregards include: ..your business assets"Originally posted by IR35 Avoider View PostAccording to the below web page "stocks and shares" are one of many items that count as savings. So if you didn't include the value of you company shares in "savings" when asked, and got extra benefit as a result, you've probably committed benefit fraud.

Yes, so you wouldn't include, for example, your company laptop, or even the company cash reserves, but the value of the shares should be adjusted to take these into account and they should be included. You shouldn't be able to get away with saying my company is worth £100 (or whatever you paid for the shares when you opened the company) when it has £100k in the bank.Originally posted by BigTime View PostIn that link, "Other disregards include: ..your business assets"Comment
