    IR35 Compliant

I saw a job posting today that requested the applicant must be ir35 compliant.

    Go figure.
Don't believe it, until you see it!

The sad thing is that many contractors won't even have a clue that means and even more will read this and think its a good thing

I'm also considering PAT testing myself.
TBH, I've been getting an awful lot of shocks off metal things lately.

Does compliant mean inside or outside?

It doesn't mean either which is why it is so ridiculous.

I hope for a day when this actually happens. A time where agencies bear the full risk of IR35 tax on deemed salary, and start to offer clients two-tiers of contractor rates; a higher rate for those inside and lower for those outside IR35. Agencies sit in the unique position where they can influence the client to treat contractors as businesses or permies and pay the appropriate rate. Will it ever happen though? nah.

I'd be very intrigued to see how 'compliant' this agency's contract is.

It would be good for your company image... Particularly if it was mine you were doing for free
