      I was recently looking for Oracle development resources to work on a large project in Central London.

      Firstly we told HR this was a contract market but were told to try perm first and took 3 months of fruitless interviews with no hopers

      Then we tried contract Oracle developers and this was tuff with less than 10% of the CV's even worth a second glance even after the non residents had been screened out. We used 2/3 different agents during this process since most of the CV's were duff / candidates not viable.

      Getting people with the right skills / attitude even in contract market is still tough and we were offering reasonable rates £450 and flexible working hours..

            £450 for central London isn't that great, particularly if the candidates aren't local.
