Tesco say my CV has alright been put through

I won't be the first person this's happened to.

Had an agent from Optimus Search put me in for a contract at Tesco today, but got an email back from the agent later saying I'd already been put through so my application has gone in the bin.

I've no idea who's done this. Does anyone know who's on the Tesco PSL? Not that I'd really want to go with this mystery agent but does anyone know if this rules me out for Tesco for future contracts? (I know GCHQ take this attitude.)

Haha! I know what you mean but this is the most attentive agent I've ever dealt with and up until now they've been one of the most pleasant. I knew he'd lap me up when he sent me the job spec.

You have the right to know who is 'representing' you at any company.

Ask the nice agent to quietly supply you a contact, or just the generic hr email address and email them politely explaining the situation...?

If the Agent won't or can't tell you the other parties details, contact Tesco directly. The other party does not have permission to use your details.

If you tell the Optimus man you'd never given the other agent your permission to put you forward, and put in writing that you want Optimus to represent you, it might get your app out of the bin. Though the slightest hint of a dispute does scare some agent/clients away.

Nonsense. They will tell you that your CV is there - to stop you going with another agent.
