Aint it like £20 or so for something like fish and chips takeaway?

Last time I worked there it was CHF900 daily plus CHF400 daily expenses and that was at a DIY chain (think Homebase but with cuckoo clocks.) I also didn't need to pay any tax there, which was nice. As has been noted, there have been numerous threads about working there so use the nicely provided search link from NLUK: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ra...m=122&ie=UTF-8“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment

Quite a lot of people stay in accomodation in France and cross the border every day for work. Accomodation can be a lot cheaper across the border.Comment

When I was working at my pharma clientco in Basel, large numbers of their permies did just that.Originally posted by CoolCat View PostQuite a lot of people stay in accomodation in France and cross the border every day for work. Accomodation can be a lot cheaper across the border.
And also, when arriving at BSL airport, it's worth knowing that it's significantly cheaper to rent a car from the French car rental booths at one end of the arrivals hall than from the Swiss equivalents at the other end. The only downsides being (a) a couple of miles further to get back into Switzerland, and (b) the possibility that the car woldn't have a Swiss motorway tax disc on the screen.Comment

It's ridiculously expensive. I've been in Basel a few times recently for a client and one time bought a small takeaway lunch which would have probably been about £6-7 in somewhere like Pret in central London and it was the equivalent of £16. I'm not sure you could survive on less than 1000 Euros a day.Originally posted by psychocandy View PostAint it like £20 or so for something like fish and chips takeaway?
