Hi Stek, you interested in a contract?

Did you give him a gob full and then moan on a forum about it to prove you are a winner?

More endless moaning from PC in professional forums. Business / Contracts as usual I see.

Very much so. Psychocandy is the equivalent of the old lady with dementia who needs her urinary catheter changed and who is never going to sue for malpractice.

Of course it is just possible that the job centre is filling recruitment agencies with workfare participants, and they hand over a list of the local unemployed over to be phoned, who then get sanctioned for turning down work. It's a tough old world out there.

          Answer:

Yes as always! My current availability is xyz, if that doesn't fit with this role let me know the details and I'll look into my network to see if I can assist your search.

Send on the details and I'll consider it.

Thanks for taking the time to look me up.

          Stek
Whatever your feelings towards them they are entrenched in the contracting business model so blow sugar up their arse and get the work. Chances are you will be earning more than them if you get it and when you are out of work you'll love to hear from them

Phone interview arranged today. No call.

Been trying to get hold of agent to see whats happening. As you can imagine, not phoning me back. Looks very much like role has been filled/canned and that phone interview was cancelled.

But it seems like agent couldn't be arsed to tell me. Very rude indeed.

Some people here will attack you for exposing anything negative about agents or agency behaviours. Don't worry, keep posting, ignore them.

This is hardly exposing anything. It's standard practice.

No it's not. Informing the candidate that arrangements have changed or an interview cancelled is standard practice.

I think many will argue that. If there is something in it for the agent he will call. If there isn't, he won't. Poor but common.

Agents will call even if the client cancelled the interview if they think they can make money out of you later.

If the agent is a graduate who could be out of a job next week they won't bother because they don't realise part of their job is building relationships with people who can make money for them later.
