    Enforced furlough

Just re-read my contract and noticed that I have a 25 mandated days furlough, excluding bank holidays!!!!

What a pain in the @r5e.

Oh, that's not good - what term is the contract?

Currently mid way through the 2nd 6 monther, with a verbal likelihood of renewal come September.

Well, I suppose you just have to treat each 6 months as 5......is this some kind of IT security measure - I remember some old permie roles I was in, specifically in IB world, where there was a mandated 2 week break needed for certain staff - the idea was that 2 weeks without access was sufficient time for any shenanigans to come to light....?
Naturally, as permie, this was paid holiday, but perhaps the same reasoning?

I budget for 46 weeks per year, so its not that I'll be out of pocket, just frustrating to not have the choice.

Need to find a couple of week long contracts.

25 days every 6 months or just once a year?

To be fair, I'd quite like this as long as the rate was OK. Nice to have some more time off.

Bummer. At least you spotted it now and not in November! Enough time to budget it in and think about kicking off a plan B or getting some training in the spare time if you can't find a short contract anywhere else...

Its a bummer but good from an IR35 point of view. Lack of MOO and all that.
