If I have a ltd company in UK, a contract with a UK company but an working remotely from Canada (being paid into my UK ltd company) - who would i pay tax to? Corp tax is obviously in UK but if I take any dividends, should that be UK personal tax or worldwide income tax to Canada. Very confusing.

Why do you work through a UK company? If you're working remotely, you don't need a UK company - a Canadian company will do fine.
If you must work through a UK company, then invoice that company from a Canadian company (or yourself as self-employed). Don't muck about with dividends or salary - it's all too complicated.
I work for a UK company, via my Swiss registered company, from my home in Switzerland. I don't personally pay HMRC anything ; my company also doesn't pay anything.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation! -
In the scenario mentioned you would just pay UK tax as normal, invoice as normal. Eligibility for travel and expenses would depend on if your being in Canada was required by the contract - presumably you are working at a satellite office for the client?Comment

Are you a Canadian or do you have a Canadian work permit?Originally posted by ldn View PostIf I have a ltd company in UK, a contract with a UK company but an working remotely from Canada (being paid into my UK ltd company) - who would i pay tax to? Are you currently filling an annual Canadian tax return?
I could work from anywhere in the world where I don't even have a work permit ie in Austalia and work for a UK company and receive payment in the UK if I am allowed to work from "home" and provided that I don't claim to be a non UK tax residentComment

Not necessarily, most countries have restrictions on how long you can stay on tourist visa or via waiver. UK it's six months in every twelve, Schengen zone 90 days in any 180Originally posted by Brussels Slumdog View PostAre you a Canadian or do you have a Canadian work permit?
