    wanted: Data Analyst

Seriously considering invoking my right to substitution on current contract as I'm off to permie land.
Does anyone know of/is a data analyst available towards the end of May?
Access / Excel skills are the only technical requirements.
£350 - 400 a day, Canary Wharf (London). I can sort you out Mon-Fri digs for £650 a month. Contract runs to end July with possibility of extension.

PM me please if you'd like to know more.

    Thanks

Good luck with the move and I've a question. I'm supposing that Canary Wharf location means that it's a finance company, so what on earth are those ads on jobserve with finance exp. reqd and a long list of other "essential" skills all about?

Kind of fits in nicely with the other thread about somebody blagging it. At the end of the day there are jobs out there and there are lots of people after them, some way of narrowing it down to a short-list is necessary.

Investment banks often list business knowledge etc that are required but you rarely need to know it once you are in (I'm not bitter btw - I have been in investment banking for several years).

I'm not bitter either, it's just the way the world works. I actually like the method Dave Brent uses.

Get a pile of CVs and chuck half of them in the bin. The reasoning being that he doesn't want people working for them who aren't lucky!

One of my favorite David Brentisms!

Have to say upwards of 400 quid a day for Access/Excel seems quite a bit. Tempted to send you my details (Excel/Access/SQL Server/Banking/City etc since Excel and Access were invented)! Just a short flight away from Sydney...

£400 is a fair rate for where it is and the type of person required.

Whilst Access and Excel are the only technical skills, pro-active problem solving, organisation skills and common sense are key. I've interviewed people for this role before about 6 months ago and the agencies couldn't come up with anyone.

Just clearing it all with client co at the mo.

The risk with that approach is what happens if they used their last piece of luck staying out of the bin.
