Just looking for some advice/information, my partner has just stated a new job. We knew he would not get a full months wage as he started 2 weeks before end of the month however on pay day we have discovered he has only been paid for 2 days work instead of 10 and his work is saying it has something to do with week in lieu for seven days he does not get paid. There is nothing in his contract of employment saying this, it was never mentioned at interview or on the first day of the job. It is only now coming to light there is something in the employee handbook about it.
Has anyone elese ever herard of this and can it be done? Other half dosent want to make too much of a fuss as its a new job but I do not think this is right and what he has been paid does not even cover any bill let alone last us till end of the month.
We are based in Scotland if that makes a difference to any laws etc.
