Not seeing the issue here? It wants either project managers or programme manager which is a big range in skills so would say the salary would match that.

Also reading the advert this is just a fishing mail for a range of jobs. I can't believe a client would have a requirment that is so wide ranging so think it is a pile of poo advert IMO.

I think that's the problem kaiser's highlighting, stated in more specific terms. Clearly this isn't for a real role, otherwise they'd have targeted it more specifically to the Project or Programme manager that they were recruiting for.

Where the gap between the upper and lower salary bands quoted is more than 20% of the upper end, that's a clear sign it's merely a fishing exercise rather than a serious, targeted advert.

Most companies target their advertising, including the advertising that they hope will attract the right calibre of candidate. You don't try and attract the organ grinder and the monkey with the same bait, unless you're just fishing for CVs.

It's the same with roles that are looking for "a range of developers", paying between £20k and £60k. You know instantly that the advertiser is just on a fishing trip, or simply incompetent. From the few occasions I've explored further over the years out of a misguided sense of morbid curiosity, I've always found it to be the former rather than the latter.

Genuine recruitment agent working for Experis is my view. Could be looking for a sheaf of fodder CVs but I think it is more likely she is trying to save on her advertising slot allocation by covering multiple jobs in one slot.
