The less scrupulous ones try and make you sign additional terms, which you simply refuse to do.
Particularly as they haven't presented these terms to you at the time you got the other contract so you have no chance to get them reviewed.
It seems very odd to not supply something that is referred to in such a document so will raise this tomorrow. Having done some research on here about the agency I believe that the contract will fail review and they won't actually supply the letter.
I guess I may have to consider passing on this opportunity.

I may be up for a different role with the same client with a different agency anyway.
I consider this to be one of many new lessons learned about contracting so feel more confident to ask the correct questions and view relevant documents up front rather than getting so far down the line that it is a lot of wasted time and effort.Comment

I have sent contracts off for review via QDOS.
The agent emailed me to ask why I was not on site this morning; I did not say that I would be and made it clear I would not go on site without an agreed contract.
I have now been told that they need a decision by EOP tomorrow or the client may go elsewhere.
On the upside I have the client contact details now and have emailed explaining my position and that I have every intention of commencing the role but am getting the contracts reviewed.
I guess I will be getting a rather moody phone call tomorrow telling me it's all gone down the pan.Comment

Maybe we should be pushing for agents to send us a sample of their standard contract and terms of business along with the job spec so we can decide if it's worth being put forward or not and not waste each other's time messing about with agents who offer bulltulip contracts.Free advice and opinions - refunds are available if you are not 100% satisfied.Comment
