    LCH Clearnet - Credit check

    Hi,

I have an interview at LCH Clearnet for contract. Can anyone tell me if successful they will do a credit check for contractors?

I have nothing bad in my history apart from one default of about £300 which has been settled

    Regards

They would failing their duties if a financial body didn't do a rigourous check. I would expect they would do more than a simple credit check as well. All the jobs in banks I have done required credit checking via a company they use. I had to provide evidence of what I was doing inbetween contracts and the like so was pretty detailed.

top tip, write to whoever you defaulted with say sorry it was a terrible mistake (blame the wife/Dog/lover) and inform them because of the mistake you can't get a job, say you are happy to pay any admin/person time for them to remove it, its really no skin of there back and ive now seen this work 3 times with other contractors.

Imagine you were a manager in a bank, think what would happen if one of your team performed a large scale fraud and it got to the papers and the public went mad about it - now imagine you hired them and they had a dodgy history which you either did not check or just ignored. How long would you expect to keep your job?

That is how thoroughly they will check your background and how much attention they will pay to things.

Like the previous poster said, if you can then do something to get the default wiped.
