    Break in Contract

Been contracting for some time at the same client. My current contract extension ends next week and then I'm off on holiday for a month (can't wait!).

Client has always said they would want to extend my contract and they have just offered this. The 'extension' runs from when I come back in September so there is technically a break in my contract with the agency. Although I am obviously staying with the same agency but the client view the 'gap' as just holiday however, technically there is a break in contract between the agency and myself

Does this affect any expenses processes such as the 2yr rule? Any advice is welcome.

No because the 2 year rule has a 40% of the time rule. So if in month 25 you've been in that area over 40% of the time you can't claim.

That 1 month break takes you to 96% of your time in that office so you are still well over the 40% limit.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
