I would go for the higher paying shorter contract everytime. If I wanted to work 12 months a year I'd go permie.Comment

Some might argue the point that neither £325 is not classed as low pay.
The 3 month gig would mean you are looking end of July/August when people are on holiday.Comment

For me it would be the short term one every time as for me contracting was not staying anywhere too long if I did not want to so the thought of signing up for 12 months from the start like someone else said I may aswell have stayed permanent. As mad as it sounds to some people I would not even apply for a 12 monther to start with given it was that long.
In regards to how I felt at the end of the 3 monther in regards to getting anoher for me I would just feel as I normally feel when a contract ends you just have to see what happens as you just never know how it will be when you get to that time. I have the money to cover me so thats the main thing to take any pressure off. Also if I had to yes I would take a low paid contract to get me through and keep me working if it means I can work in a flexible way and not be stuck anywhere then its not an issue for me.Comment

On a serious note though, you mentioned leaving a number of contracts early. Where you may have been lucky to keep in with your ex clients a contrator that has a history of not seeing contracts though is a huge risk to clients. Bearing this in mind and the fact you are miserable and going to jump ship again I think you have 2 other things to think about and neither are rate...
1) Are you going to actually going to start seeing contracts through instead of riding the crest of a wave which will at some point come and swamp you. You cannot keep leaving contracts early and expect no come back.
2) Are you are actually going to start seeing contracts through? If you take the 12 months one are you going to be crying to us in 2 months about how miserable it is and jump...yet again?
I would say bearing this in mind you have no choice but to take the 3 month for no other reason than you have to start seeing them through to completion.
